Here at Hillside Caravan Park, we are always happy to answer any questions or queries you may have. We thought that it would be helpful to list a few of those questions we get asked frequently about Glamping. At our site we have 6 Glamping Pods which are surrounded by open space and beautiful views, giving the perfect combination of being in the great outdoors whilst also having a cosy and comfortable place to stay.
What is glamping?
Glamping is ‘glamorous camping’. It means you will have all your home comforts such as a bed, sofa, electric, lighting, a bathroom, heating, TV and like in our Deluxe Pods you may even have a hob and underfloor heating. Glamping gives people who usually like the luxury of hotels and apartments to be able to be closer to nature and feel a bit more ‘outdoorsy’ while still be in comfortable, warm accommodation.
Is glamping is a better option when you have children, rather than traditional camping?
My answer would be that it all depends on what you are looking for. If you have younger children who still get up in the night for the bathroom then glamping is a good option as some glamping pods have their own bathroom facilities in the accommodation itself such as our Mega Pods and Deluxe Mega Pods. This means you avoid having to make those midnight treks over to the bathroom facilities on the site you are staying at. Glamping pods also mean that in wet weather, everything stays dry and you have a nice retreat to come back to and all the family can get warmed up and cosy. Glamping is also great for children and teenagers as it allows them to still be connected to their friends and family as the accommodation often has electric for them to charge any devices and some sites such as Hillside offer Wi-Fi.
Can you go Glamping all year round?
Absolutely! Glamping is a great experience which you can do all your round unlike camping which is very weather dependant. Our Glamping Pods all have heating which makes them very cosy even on those wintery nights!
What do I bring Glamping?
Well, this all depends on what type of Glamping facility you have booked and whether the site offers any extras so you don’t have to bring too much with you. Some glamping pods can be basic and just offer electric charging points and you bring with you everything you need. Often glamping pods are a little more equipped, such as our Mega Pods which have a bathroom, kitchenette area, sofas, beds and dining tables and chairs. With our Mega Pods, we do have optional extras to make packing a little easier, so bedding, towels, a BBQ and cutlery/crockery can all be added to save the effort of bringing these with you and unpacking them when you get home! Our Deluxe Mega Pods come with all of this as standard which allows more room in the car when it comes to packing up the family for the weekend and nothing to worry about other than what amazing activities you want to do whilst you are staying with us!
