Hillside Caravan Park is delighted to announce its David Bellamy Conservation Gold award for 2017/2018, alongside a ten year enduring commitment to conservation. These awards are bestowed on those that actively seek to enhance Britain’s natural environment. Being one of the longest running green tourism awards in the UK we are incredibly proud of this achievement, we hope you can all agree that Hillside is a place of vast natural beauty and wildlife. Recently we set our sights on a new award, attaining the British Beekeepers Association accreditation to Bee Conservation. We can now proudly display the award at reception.
David Bellamy commented:
“It gives me great pleasure to let you know that your park has been awarded a Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award for 2017/18. Let me take this opportunity to thank you and your team for all the hard work you have put in to make your park a real haven for wildlife and to go the extra mile to ensure that it is sustainable and a good neighbour to the local community.
I am delighted that your newly converted coffee shop and toilet facilities are excellent for people with accessibility needs and the elderly. Of all the other wonderful projects you’ve put in place, I am particularly impressed by how your wildflower area has blossomed and by the new shrub bed outside of your reception area. Ann sent me a photograph of the much-improved area. Great work.
In addition, well done on all the hard work you have done to help Britain’s bees – I am delighted to say that you are officially a “Honey Bee Friendly” park.
What’s more, it’s great to hear that you have some wonderful, wildlife-friendly hedges on your park, that you understand their importance and are committed to managing them with wildlife in mind.”
It is our commitment long into the future to continue our efforts in keeping the site as a haven for wildlife, ensuring both touring and glamping customers receive the most of what Yorkshire has to offer.
Why not head down to Hillside to see what wildlife you can spot, and be sure to send us your pictures.
